A Sunswitch sensor fault, indicated by error codes on the controller, usually points to issues with either the roof or pool temperature sensors or their wiring. Common problems include broken or disconnected sensor cables, short circuits, or readings outside the normal operating range. Troubleshooting involves checking sensor connections, swapping sensor locations to isolate the faulty sensor, and inspecting for cable damage.
Check for any visible damage to the sensor wires and ensure they are securely connected to the controller.
These can occur within the sensor cables or the sensors themselves.
This could indicate a faulty sensor or a problem with the environment the sensor is exposed to.
If the sensor itself is damaged or malfunctioning, it may provide inaccurate readings.
In some cases, the controller itself may be faulty, but this is less common.
Ensure both the roof and pool sensors are properly connected to the controller.
If you have a controller that monitors both roof and pool temperatures, swap the sensor locations. If the fault moves to the other sensor, you’ve identified the faulty one.
Carefully examine the sensor cables for any signs of damage, such as cuts, breaks, or exposed wires.
If you suspect a faulty sensor, try replacing it with a known working sensor (if available).
