ZANE POOL SENSOR SOLAR POOL HEATING

Description

The Zane Pool Probe with a 3-metre cable is a replacement sensor designed specifically for Zane solar pool heating systems.

It’s compatible with Zane PC and ZX series controllers, including models like the PC5 and ZX4000.

This probe helps monitor pool or roof temperatures to ensure optimal heating performance.

📌 Installation Tip for the Pool Probe:

• The pool probe should be positioned in the pool filter return line, before the solar take-off point.
• This placement ensures the probe continuously senses the actual pool water temperature, not water that’s already been heated or diverted.
• Accurate sensing allows the controller (like Zane PC or ZX models) to make smart decisions about when to activate the solar heating system.

🛠️ Zane Pool Probe Installation Guide

i) Drill the Hole

• Drill a 9.5mm hole in the side of the pipe immediately after the solar check valve.
• Use the special Zane PVC drill for a clean, precise cut (available from Zane dealers).

ii) Insert the Plug

• Push the special plug into the hole and rotate it home to secure it.

iii) Fit the Probe Holder

• Insert the probe holder into the plug fully up to the head.
• It’s a tight fit to ensure proper sealing.
• Use soap as lubricant if needed — avoid mineral oil or grease.

iv) Secure the Lead

• Strap the lead firmly to the pipe to prevent strain on the probe holder and lead entry.

v) Choose the Right Location

• Avoid placing the probe on top of exposed pipework from the pump — it’s vulnerable to sunlight and damage.

Instead, install it on an inside elbow of the pipework, which:

• Shields it from direct sunlight (avoiding false temperature readings).
• Minimizes accidental damage from pool users.
