How to Install Your NCS DIY Solar Pool Heating Kit
Simple setup. Serious savings. Solar heating made easy.
Installing your NCS DIY Solar Pool Heating Kit is straightforward, safe, and designed for confident homeowners. Each kit is custom-cut to suit your roof layout and includes everything you need—from premium absorber tubing and TufLock manifolds to roof brackets, plumbing fittings, and a step-by-step instruction manual.
Once installed, your pool water is pumped through the solar absorber mounted on your roof, where it’s naturally heated by the sun before returning to the pool. For added convenience and efficiency, you can pair your system with a digital solar controller to automate heating based on roof and pool temperatures
⚠️ Safety First
When installing a pool solar system, always exercise extreme caution when working with heights or around water; do not use shortcuts, as there is no substitute for safety.
The potential to fall from a roof is a major risk, along with electric shock and exposure to harmful U.V. radiation and heat exhaustion. Make sure you use all necessary safety harnessing, scaffolding, safety railing and suitable footwear. Make yourself aware of any electrical shock hazards, weather conditions, the roof condition, roof access methods, pitch angle, and sun protection when deciding to install the system.
Before starting, always follow best practices for working at heights and around water:
- Use safety harnesses, scaffolding, and non-slip footwear
- Avoid installation during extreme heat or poor weather
- Be aware of electrical hazards and roof pitch angles

Location
It’s important you select a suitable roof to ensure the optimum performance of your new pool solar system. Take care to select a roof with no shading from neighbouring buildings or vegetation.
For optimal performance, install your NCS system on a roof that receives consistent sunlight:
- Best orientation: North, Northwest, West, or flat (≤15° pitch)
- Avoid: South-facing roofs
- East-facing roofs: Increase coverage by ~6% to compensate for reduced exposure
- Ensure no shading from trees, chimneys, or nearby buildings
